DARLING OF THE SPECTACLE

TANZNACHT, 2023
Darling of the Spectacle is a solo performance on exposure, isolation, and the unbearable intimacy of being watched. Set in the logic of the gallery, the performer becomes both, artwork and artifact, a living object placed under the glow of spectatorship.
Framed by a spoken monologue “I am an object of art'“, the piece unfolds as a choreography of twelve moves performed through shifting dance languages, trying to form a catalogue of movement exposed for consumption.
The work examines the pressure to be meaningful, the violence of aesthetic expectation, and the fragile boundary between subject and spectacle.
