? examines how patriarchal narratives construct an idealised image of womanhood while simultaneously erasing the woman herself. The expectations to be beautiful, desirable, accommodating and endlessly resilient penetrate the body and psyche, disturbing the relationship between self-image, desire and identity. Through physical and psychological transformation, the work confronts the myth of the “ideal woman” and the damage produced by living within systems of toxic masculinity. At its centre is a different proposition: that an ordinary woman, simply surviving, resisting and remaining herself within these structures, is already a kind of superhero.
