movement direction

ISTANBUL INTERNATIONAL THEATRE FESTIVAL, 2010

The Tempest reduces the play to an intense encounter between Prospero, Ariel and Caliban. Performed by three women who move between multiple characters, the production explores power, domination, forgiveness and the unstable relationship between ruler and ruled. Set within a flooded island and shaped through music, movement and transformation, the work turns Shakespeare’s magical world into a physical and intimate confrontation with memory, control and release
