subj:medeA is a solo performance that reimagines the Medea myth through ancient fragments, modern testimonies, and personal reflections on motherhood, exile, and systemic failure. The work dismantles the monstrous image of Medea to ask what kind of world needs her — and what kind of world keeps abandoning women.
A broken chorus of voices—mythic, political, intimate—collides onstage. The narrator confronts the audience with the violence of blame: how women are made responsible for collapse, while deeper injustices remain buried, unnamed, intact.
Through chalk drawings, fabric, projection, and responsive audience input, subj:medeA unfolds as an embodied essay and a ritual of refusal—tender, furious, unresolved.
Part political investigation, part personal exorcism, this is Medea not as legend, but as a wound without closure: one that still reopens inside contemporary culture.
